UVision Strengthens its Presence in South Korea and Signs Follow-On Agreement with FIRSTEC for Local Marketing of its LM Systems

UVision Air Ltd. – a global pioneer in the area of lethal aerial loitering systems of all sizes, strengthens its presence in South Korea, signing a follow-on agreement with FIRSTEC Co., Ltd. for the local marketing and supply of its loitering munition systems. The companies signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) according to which FIRSTEC will market and supply the short-range Hero-30 systems to the local market.

“We are pleased to implement the MOA signed with FIRSTEC, a leader in the areas of space and aviation in South Korea. Currently, South Korea has a need for the Hero-30 systems, and we can now provide a complete solution for this need,” remarked Mr. Noam Levitt, UVision CEO.

Commenting on the agreement, Mr. Yong Woo Jeon, CEO and President of FIRSTEC, said “We are happy to strengthen our ties and cooperation with UVision – a global pioneer in the area of loitering munition whose products have already been sold. This agreement will allow FIRSTEC to boost its effort to become a total solution provider in Korea for defense and unmanned systems. We hope that this agreement will lead to expanded cooperation with the South Korean security market and further the country’s technological and defense capabilities.”

The Hero-30 – the smallest of UVision’s HERO family of Smart Loitering Systems–is designed to deliver short-range pinpoint strikes in remote locations, or in populated urban areas where speed of target opportunity response and minimizing collateral damage are of prime importance.

The HERO family includes six systems (HERO 30, 70, 120, 250, 400 and 900), designed for assorted tasks at various ranges. HERO systems enable high-speed transit flight and low-speed loitering, depending on the tactical or strategic needs of the mission – handling moving targets, moving light-duty vehicles, tanks, and other strategic objectives. The HERO systems may be provided in the ISR configuration, enabling the use of the platform as a means for gathering intelligence – or as a missile, enabling precision attacks on targets, using warheads of various types and weights.

The HERO family can carry out pinpoint strikes in urban areas or remote locations, with minimal collateral damage. In cases where an attack is aborted, HERO systems can be recalled and another target selected. With extremely low noise and thermal signature, these systems integrate highly advanced stabilized Electro-Optics day/night cameras and are ideal for deployment from air, land and sea.
